This began as a challenge to represent myself and my work in a way that could carry on through many explorations of style and medium.
Hannah AND MURPHY
My name is Hannah Sanson, I live in Alberta, Canada on Treaty 6 Territory and I created North Haven House in late 2022 out of necessity.
I realized that as an artisan, eager to create and experiment, I was lacking an outlet for my efforts. I needed a place to share the *things* that I made and my projects needed homes. Developing a brand that my work could be represented by became an obvious priority for me.
The name comes from the no longer operational North Haven Dairy Farm that my grandparent's built from the ground up in east central Saskatchewan. My grandmother instilled a very passionate legacy of handicraft in all her children and their children after them, including me. She still lives on the farm at 94 years old.
I hope that as North Haven House grows I can nurture a relationship with the people who support me and develop an understanding for what useful and beautiful goods will enrich my customer's lives - and mine in creating them.
