I know the feeling of not having the time or interest to decorate for Halloween and then wishing you did on October 31st when the trick or treaters are about to arrive!
Here are some simple ideas for last minute decorations that will be sure to impress on Halloween night!
𖥔 Spider Webs
Draw attention to your front step by stringing together a spider web from yarn or rope. This is a great way to quickly make a statement since other decorations or lights can also be hung from the web. Follow these tutorials from Decor Hint and Drops Design.
𖥔 Barren Branches
If you live near are a treed area there's a good chance you'll easily come across some deadfall branches. Prop up or lean the branches near your door to create an eery entrance! See how Town & Country did it below!
𖥔 Ghost Garland
Grab a bit of white yarn and you'll have yourself a ghoulish garland in no time to string across windows or doorways! If you can't get your hands on googly eyes which are used in this A Beautiful Mess tutorial a black felt marker would do the trick.
𖥔 Jack O' Lantern Balloons
Check your local dollar store for orange balloons and use markers or construction paper to make quick and adorable jack o' lanterns to adorn your front entrance. See how Design Improvised made hers!
𖥔 Crochet Spiders
This one might be my favourite on the list. Imagine walking up to trick or treat and seeing a big fuzzy spider dangling in front of you! This free crochet pattern from Zeens & Roger shows you how to work them up super quickly! You could double or triple the amount of stitches to make spiders in different sizes.
𖥔 Coloured Light Bulbs
Last but certainly not least - If you've got no time or supplies, stop at a hardware store on your way home from work and pick up a cheap coloured light bulb. Pop it into your porch light to flood your entrance with a fun and spooky colour. I put a green one in at our house every year and it always draws in trick or treaters!
Happy decorating and Happy Halloween!
